Wolf dog sanctuary owner's house a total loss after fire in Appomattox County – WSET

(WSET) — Fire crews battled a structure fire on Friday morning, according to the Appomatox Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief Jonathan Garrett.
The Appomatox Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 1100 block of Carson Drive. The fire started around 6 a.m.
Crews arrived to find a home that was fully involved in fire, and firefighters told ABC13 the home was a total loss. All the people in the home made it out safely.

Next to the home that was involved in the fire is the Great Spirits Wolf and Wolfdog Sanctuary. That sanctuary was not affected at all by the fire, and someone with the sanctuary told ABC13 that all the wolf dogs are okay and back in their enclosures.
Animal Control was on scene, working with the homeowners to make sure all needs for animals on scene are met. The Red Cross is helping the family.
According to Garrett, no people or animals were injured, and the cause of the fire has not been determined.
