Mountain Lion Hide – Exceptional North Idaho-Harvested Female
This exceptional-quality female Mountain Lion Hide , harvested in North Idaho, offers an outstanding combination of size, prime winter fur, and anatomical completeness. Professionally tanned and case skinned, this hide measures a full 80 inches in total length, with a 51-inch nose-to-base-of-tail measurement. Taken in February, the pelt features heavy, full winter fur, characteristic of peak seasonal condition and ideal for high-end rugging, life-size mounting, or soft mounting.
In its tanned, non-stretched state, the pelt measures 17 inches across the center of the abdomen and 28 inches across the belly just ahead of the hind hips, reflecting the animal’s mature build and excellent preservation. The fur is a rich dark brown, contrasted by bright white belly fur—a striking and desirable feature for display. All critical anatomical components are intact, including feet with claws, turned ears, split lips, and complete genitalia, making it especially suitable for detailed taxidermy work.
Condition-wise, the pelt is in exceptional shape, with only one minor 1/4″ bullet hole located in the right front shoulder. The claws on the front feet sustained very slight tannery–related wear, though they remain in significantly better condition than similar pelts and would only require light sanding if any touch-up is desired. The integrity of the paws and claws overall is notably superior, adding to the value and appeal of this specimen.
This mountain lion hide represents a top-tier offering, combining premium fur quality, excellent anatomical completeness, and minimal flaws. Ethically sourced under Idaho state wildlife regulations, this pelt is ideal for collectors, taxidermists, or buyers seeking a visually striking, professionally prepared hide with exceptional presentation potential.
