Gordon Recyclers acquires Lowe Fur & Herb’s assets – Recycling Today

The acquired company has been operating for more than 55 years in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina.

Gordon Recyclers Inc. (GRI), headquartered in Statesville, North Carolina, through its subsidiary, Gordon Recyclers North Wilkesboro LLC, acquired the assets of Lowe Fur & Herb Inc. in March.
For more than 55 years, the Lowe Fur & Herb facility has helped local customers responsibly recycle metals and other materials. It will continue to operate at 108 5th St. in North Wilkesboro under the GRI name.
GRI is a family-owned scrap metal recycling company founded in 1917 that has locations in Connelly Springs, Hickory and Mount Airy, North Carolina, as well as in Statesville and North Wilkesboro. GRI purchases scrap metal from individuals and businesses and processes recycled metals for mills and foundries worldwide.

The acquisition is expected to bring benefits to the community that include expanded recycling services for businesses, contractors, manufacturers and residents and continued employment opportunities.
The expansion reflects GRI’s continued commitment to investing in the western North Carolina region and providing accessible recycling services for residents and industry, according to the company.
GRI says it will continue maintaining strong community relationships, delivering a high level of service and expanding services, such as pickup and delivery of roll-off containers to customers that produce high volumes of scrap.
