One year after the untimely deaths of long-time Shannon County School District employees,Alfred Red Cloud and Jamie Big Crow, the Wolf Creek School Parent Advisory Committee (P.A.C.) felt that the students and staff needed to bring closure for the grief of losing two long-time employees within a two-week span. The P.A.C. met with school administrators to organize a special ceremony for the school. A blessing of the school campus and student assembly kicked off the official dedication of the small gymnasium in memory of Alfred.
SCSD commissioned Lakota artists Joe Pulliam to paint a mural of Alfred on the gym wall. Many staff members commended

Joe for his life-like portrait of Alfred. Joe was on hand for the dedication and gifted his mural sketch to the Red Cloud Tiwahe.
A student assembly was held with the entire student body and staff. Words of encouragement were offered to the students who are struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts. The assembly concluded with a massive round dance with all students and staff.
The Wolf Creek School P.A.C.is grateful to the following individuals that made this day possible: Mr. & Mrs. Wilmer Mesteth; Mr. Mike Carlow; Mr. Floyd Hand; Wakinyan Singers; Mr.Robert Brave Heart; Cante Tinza Singers; SCSD Board Members; Dr. Richard Zephier; Mr. Steve Selchert, Mr. Larry Larson; Mr. Tom Vocu; Mr. Joe Pulliam; Red Cloud Tiospaye and Wolf Creek School Staff.
