Head to the southwest area of the Old Camp, past the Chapel. From the south gate, take a left toward the Chapel and walk until you reach a well near the marketplace—Torrez stands beside it.
Talk to him about the letter for the Fire Mages to start “The Price of Magic” quest.
Return toward the south gate and look for Morgrag carving wood nearby.
Approach him and select “Show me the goods.”
Buy 2 Wolf Claws at 8 Ore Nuggets each (16 total).
Head to the north gate of the Old Camp and talk to Graham (the map trader).
Buy 1 Parchment (blank scroll paper) for 16 Ore Nuggets.
Alternative route: Follow the northern/higher path past the grindstone and well, go through the area with red tops, and find Grim by his cauldron. He sells parchment for 13 Ore Nuggets.
Go back to Torrez at the well and give him the Parchment + 2 Wolf Claws. Select “Learn rune magic” when prompted.
You need 10 LP available to learn rune magic. After accepting, choose between:
Firebolt Rune (offensive damage spell) — recommended
Healing Rune (support spell)
Select Firebolt Rune for your first spell if you want combat damage.
After completing the quest, Torrez’s shop unlocks. You can now buy the other rune you didn’t choose (costs 322 Ore Nuggets for Firebolt or 536 Ore Nuggets for Healing) plus additional runes and magic items.
Don’t skip LP requirements: You need 5 LP minimum to learn magic from Torrez
Don’t waste Ore Nuggets: Buy wolf claws from Morgrag instead of hunting wolves (saves time)
Don’t forget parchment: Both quest materials are mandatory—Torrez won’t teach magic without them
Choose wisely: You get one rune free; the other costs 300+ Ore Nuggets later
If button is greyed out: Ensure you have enough LP and haven’t already learned magic
